Wine Wednesday: Cheap Wine Reviews

and style

Lucky you today is Wine Wednesday!!! I believe this is the 5th week that the ladies and I have gotten together to drink, eat, and be crazy. I have to say its going well we’re finishing the bottles that’s definitely step number 1! We have been going through a few different kinds as a Target run is almost a ritual in itself to plan a perfect Wine Wednesday. Here’s a list of what we’ve been drinking and why you should give them a try to for your next Wine Wednesday!

Turning Leaf- Pinot Noir

This is a great daily dinner wine. Perfect introduction for those that are not as familiar with Pinot Noir. It is pure and unblended with a slight aging which adds layers of complexity.  Dark fruit flavors and aromas abound, featuring boysenberries, pomegranates and the Turning Leaf signature brown spice. This is a favorite of Bri’s as she always seems to slip this into the basket. Being that I drink stronger reds it is a little too sweet for me. This is a great wine as it is easy to share and drinkable across pallets.

Flip Flop Pinot Noir

This is definitely a fan favorite. Strong enough for those that really drink wine and tolerable for those that don’t. It is medium bodied with bright cherry, sweet spice and, a supple velvety finish. We drank this wine with stuffed chicken breast and roasted veggies. This wine was a perfect accompaniment to dinner.

Barefoot Refresh Sweet White

Dessert wine for sure, but I also think this wine would be much better on a hot summer day than in the dead of winter. We will be keeping this in our back pocket for sangria and other wine cocktails. This wine is a mix of Pinot Grigio and Moscato. This blend is fruity, lively and light-bodied, starting with notes of peach and tangerine and finishing on a sweet note. Bottle states to serve over ice.

The Naked Grape Pinot Grigio

This wine seems to be comfortable being drank at anytime and goes with pretty much anything. It is light bodied with aromas of pear and Meyer lemon, it’s got a crisp, fresh, light and tangy finish. This wine also comes in a 3L box which is obviously great for late night trips to the hot tub… DUH… Wine Wednesday has some crazy times…

So, I’ve been thinking maybe Wine Wednesday needs to go out on the road… Chose a restaurant and a wine? Do a review on both? What do you think? Stay tuned for more new events for Wine Wednesday… the perfect way to get over the hump!
