Oven Baked Fajitas: Using Progresso Recipe Starters

This recipe is almost the easiest recipe I have ever made. It is a simple chop, mix and, drop. Very similar to Sausage, pepper, and onion. My roommate has introduced me to these recipe starters and I have to say they are pretty brilliant. This packet is three cheese but low in calorie and high in flavor. The packets are great as they take away the act of developing flavors and allows you to make a meal that seems to be simmered overnight in a fraction of the time. Perfect for week night meals.

I have been seeing oven baked fajitas on Pinterest and of course cheese makes everything better! Here is my spin on a Pinterest top pin and a new recipe for Progresso!

New project

Β½ Yellow onion

Β½ bag mini bell peppers

3 boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 package fajita seasoning

1 package Progresso three cheese recipe starter

Cut onions and peppers into a large julienne. Should be about ΒΌ” strips. Add to a 9×13 pan and sprinkle with fajita seasoning. Butterfly the chicken and cut into long strips similar in size to the veggies. Sprinkle with fajita seasoning and garlic salt.

Add to the pan with the veggies and pour over the Progresso three cheese recipe starter. Mix well and add the last of the fajita seasoning. Put pan uncovered into a 400 degree oven and bake for 1hr until veggies and meat are tender and browned.

Serve with flour or corn tortillas, sour cream, and salsa or whatever else you would like. It is also great on its own maybe served over brown or Spanish rice.

So what do you think? Give Progresso Recipe Starters a try! What are you favorite weekday meal shortcuts? Want to see a sneak peak on what im cooking next?? Check out my Pinterest!
